The Yorktown Chorale was founded in January 1994 to provide an opportunity for singers to perform classical
and popular choral works in their original style. The Chorale is an outgrowth of the chorus formed for the Yorktown Tri-Centennial Celebration.
Please tour our site to see a little about our history, music, and
upcoming concerts.

Yorktown Chorale Charter
The Yorktown Chorale was formed to promote an appreciation of the vocal
arts in the residents of Yorktown and the Tidewater Peninsula, and give
singers a venue to practice and improve their skills.

Chorale Profile
Members come to the Yorktown Chorale from a wide variety of backgrounds and locations.
We range in age from high school students to retirees and vary in experience from school and church choirs to opera. Many
of us travel only a few miles to rehearsal, while others commute from Williamsburg and Gloucester.
We all share a love of music and an interest in developing our vocal skills.

Performances
We
present a variety of performances, which all focus on providing family
entertainment suitable for all ages, family members, religious, and ethnic
groups in the community. Our
seasonal concerts reflect patriotism and love of God in an unobtrusive
manner, with due respect for community members with differing views.
Spring
concerts showcase songs of Americana and patriotic tunes, reflecting and
inspiring love of Country.
The
Yorktown Chorale is assisted primarily by St. Mark Lutheran Church,
Yorktown, through their donation of free facilities for weekly practice
sessions and Grace Episcopal Church as the venue for the December Yorktown
Homes Tour.
The
Celebrate Yorktown Committee and the Fourth of July Celebration Committee
also provide the Chorale with free facilities for our seasonal concerts.
